Copenhagen-based design company MOEBE designs and creates products that are simple yet quite extraordinary.

Danish design company MOEBE creates products that they like to keep simple. They focus on the essentials and strive to reduce their designs to their simple forms; thereby creating intuitive and honest products.

“We try to let the simplicity and analogue thinking that is the basis of our work define everything we do. This should be reflected not only in the aesthetics of our products, but also in the details of their construction,” says Martin D. Christensen, Co-Founder and Architect.

In Unity with the Mind
A key reason for MOEBE’s approach to design is understanding.

“We believe that there is something liberating and rewarding, when you understand the designs and things that you surround yourself with. That’s what we try to do with our designs,” says Anders Thams, Co-Founder and Architect, who continues:

“All of our designs are very honest. There are no hidden elements or complicated constructions hidden below the surface. Take for example our shelving system, this consists of just three parts: legs, shelves and wedges. That’s it.”

MOEBE was founded in 2014 by Cabinetmaker Anders Thams and Architects Nicholas Oldroyd and Martin D. Christensen. Despite still being a relatively new company, MOEBE’s products are already sold in over 800 stores across the world from California in the west to Japan in the east.
