Danske Bank and their architect have teamed up with HOLMRIS B8 to realise a new standard for banking in the future. The result is a vibrant working environment with a variety of financial firms acting seamlessly under the same roof.

Entering 2018, a new multi-purpose banking house of Danske Bank opened its doors to employees and customers in Odense, Denmark. The building is located in the heart of the city, at Albani Torv, and among its new inhabitants are big Danish companies such as Danica, Danske Forsikring, Private Banking, Banking Danmark, Landbrugscenteret, and of course, a branch of Danske Bank.

The interior design of the newly renovated building in Odense was undertaken by Danske Bank’s own architect, Annemarie Thoke, and HOLMRIS B8 delivered all furniture and interiors for the project.

The office building houses 135 people, all provided with custom-made lockers and height-adjustable tables specially developed and manufactured by HOLMRIS B8. The ground floor is furnished for client-facing business, the middle floor is primarily offices and staff spaces, and the top floor is mainly used for private banking.

The interior design is based on a workplace design concept developed by Danish PLH Architects. Danske Bank stated that they wanted an interior design concept that could be adjusted to suit the broad variety of professionals and customers who would use the new building in Odense.

So, Danske Bank chose HOLMRIS B8 as a partner in an ongoing agreement on the supply of furniture for its branches. HOLMRIS B8 had a clear understanding of what Danske Bank expected and required as they already supplied furniture for another Danske Bank branch located in Kolding, Denmark.

“Moreover, we were looking for a partner that could make client-customised furniture and deliver a wide range of products from other companies. In addition to that, we wanted them to contribute ideas in collaboration with our architects to create the best possible working environment for our employees. HOLMRIS B8 turned out to be the right partner for the supply,” says Claes Wilhelmsen, Senior Group Procurement Manager at Danske Bank.

Consistent Interior Design

The banking house has meeting rooms that vary in size and decoration; there are quiet zones for making undisturbed phone calls, and there are large conference rooms equipped with the HOLMRIS B8-designed DO1100 conference table.

Head of Sales of HOLMRIS B8 Group East, Jeppe Mandrup says;

“For us, it was of the utmost importance that we delivered on time, so everyone involved could start working in their new office as planned. This is definitely a matter of trust from the client. So, needless to say, budget and time are essential factors in a job like this. And we’re very happy to say that we delivered in the spring of 2018, as scheduled.”
