The Danish Design Festival starts today, so here are some warm suggestions for events that will definitely be worth stopping by.

SMOCK Sewing Workshop at DesignWerck

Swing by DesignWerck on Refshaleøen close to the new NOMA and experience how Laura Jørgensen from Danish design brand møbel og rum transforms flat fabric into beautiful textures using the SMOCK sewing technique. Laura Jørgensen will be using Devina fabric from Kvadrat to create SMOCK cushions. There will also be ready-made SMOCK cushions on display at DesignWerck.

This event is running on 24 and 25 May, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Unique Bicycle Design – Open House at Biomega

Biomega designs and develops premium bicycles, electric bicycles and related accessories. Biomega’s unique bicycle design is built on passion for social innovation, design thinking and urban lifestyle. Join this event to experience Biomega’s brand-new flagship store and try out one of their unique bikes for yourself. Biomega Store Manager Molly will be at this event to greet all guests with a cup of coffee and light refreshments.

This event is taking place on 25 May, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Danish Design Award 2018 at Industriens Hus

Denmark’s great design prize, the Danish Design Award, celebrates its winners and finalists at the grand ceremony at Industriens Hus at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen. The Danish Design Award is unique in its focus on the effect and value of design solutions for businesses, society and citizens. Katrine Hertz Mortensen from the Danish Design Centre will be the hostess of the evening.

This event is taking placing on 28 May, 4.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
