Carl Hansen & Søn is the largest manufacturer of furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner. Wegner, The Safari Chair by Kaare Klint, The Folding Chair by Mogens Koch and The Colonial Chair by Ole Wanscher. Representing the third generation after founder Carl Hansen, Knud Erik Hansen led the family-owned company into a new phase in 2002 when he initiated an internationalization process that resulted in the company’s furniture being sold around the world. Carl Hansen & Søn operates sales subsidiaries in Canada, Japan and China, and has showrooms in New York, Tokyo and Copenhagen. The company has its own sales representatives in Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Hong Kong, while the rest of the world is covered by separate agents.
