In Thomas’ atelier STUDIO THOMAS PETER LUND, founded in 2013, light and architecture are being developed at eye level. The atelier also serves as a small workshop where own lamp designs are hand made and being carried out to order.
By means of physical prototypes Thomas’ work is investigated and documented on the basis of fundamental criteria of architectural value, such as structure, significance, illumination, space, and materiality.
It’s all about transforming light – by processing programmatic lightning tales, testing structural hierarchies, and exploring the properties of the materials, whose potential is being tested 1:1.
Thomas’ work does not only contain the visual expression but should rather be seen as storage of historic and contemporary layers of lightning theory whose basic issues are investigated and reinterpreted.
Thomas Peter Lund has been working as a competition architect for a number of years and served as a key person in many international design and urban planning competitions. Thomas has a distinct understanding of the creation of strategic structural tales as well as abstract architectural design models, with focus on the interaction between light and space.
Concurrently, Thomas Peter Lund has created lightning projects that have been exhibited in a number of European countries as well as in USA.
