We Do Wood has chosen to design furniture in the material moso bamboo, as it is one of the most sustainable natural resources the world has. The bamboo root system is continually sprouting new growth and new shoots. This continuous sprouting makes replanting after harvesting unnecessary, as opposed to all types of wood. In addition, bamboo does this all naturally without any chemicals, pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Bamboo is also a crucial element in the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Because of this, planting bamboo is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and help fight global warming.
We Do Wood only work with certified plantations. This is our guarantee that the bamboo is grown without any chemicals, pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Furthermore, the bamboo processing is done without the use of harmful chemicals and all adhesives used during processing and production has the lowest formaldehyde emissions in the industry.
The bamboo is shipped directly from the Chinese plantation to the European production facilities, which further reduces carbon emission from unnecessary transportation routes. Finally the furniture is flat-packed, which minimise the use of packaging material and decrease shipping volume.
We Do Wood is continually aware of reducing the carbon footprint of We Do Wood products, all the way from the bamboo plantation to the final owner of the products.
